Post-Christmas sales are Heaven-sent. If there’s any holes in your wardrobe, that’s the perfect time to fill them! Zara and Nordstrom are worth mentioning, because I scored chic pieces without going over budget. I’ve also taken advantage of American Apparel’s Going Out of Business sale. Regular-priced items are 40% off and everything on sale is 70%, um yes. These high-waisted denim pants were a regular $70, but I got them for $21! Not to mention, they make my derrière look quite nice.
I had a look in mind involving a crewneck sweatshirt and denim pants, with fishnets underneath. The one I’m wearing was originally $55, but I bought it for $22. It’s a TopShop original, sold at Nordstrom. It has both a feminine and masculine appeal, and it looks good with almost anything, whether it be jeans or a skirt. What were your post-Christmas sale finds?
Velvet is one of those fabrics that I’ll never tire of, and it’s making a comeback like never before. A few weeks ago, all thanks to Octer, I scored the chicest velvet skirt for under $50. The skirt is a bit short, but I prefer shorter skirts for this time of year, because they look great with tights. Speaking of tights, I’ve been dying to wear the fishnets I snagged for $6!
What velvet pieces have you snagged for fall/winter?
I’m certain I’m not the only one who is completely disheveled as it pertains to the recent drop in temperatures. I’m never fully prepared in terms of my wardrobe; living in Texas should come as no surprise to any of us. Our weather is so fickle!
Furthermore, dressing for the cooler temps is honestly a treat. There’s so many things I have yet to add to my wardrobe, and wanted to share them with you. Let’s take a gander:
A moto jacket is essential to my fall/winter wardrobe. I misplaced the one I owned from last year, so it’s imperative that I obtain another.
I’m all about outerwear; especially colored outerwear. I’ve spotted a few looks via Pinterest with the addition of a camel coat.
The obsession that I have for Jennifer Fisher’s minimalist pieces are unspeakable. Her jewelry has adorned the necks, wrists, and hands of Rihanna, LaLa Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, and more. I’ve had my eye on the ‘Stop It Right Now’ Choker for quite some time. I doubt that I’ll splurge $350, but I settle for something that’s identical!
Fringe is in! I’ve discussed in a previous post about my obsession for fringe bags. If I could land a gray fringe drawstring, my wardrobe will be complete.
Distressed knee skinnies are so chic! I recently purchased a black pair and really would like another in a different wash.
I spotted stylish blogger, Karla Deras in an all white casual look. She wore a pair of white cigarette skinnies and crew neck, with silver pointed heels. I definitely want to recreate that look.
Black platforms are so sexy and versatile. I’m really into the extremely high heel. Platforms look great with skinny pants, culottes, and fitted skirts.
I’ll be honest, I was not fond of culottes when they made their comeback. Not anymore, I think they’ll look amazing paired with platform sandals and a crop top.
Once upon a time, the notion of wearing white and/or pastel during fall was shown much disdain. All hail to the fashion gods for allowing us to wear pastel during the fall/winter season. How amazing would I look in that soft pink coat (pictured above)?!
I missed the faux fur coat/jacket train last year, and I had to settle for a cardigan. Not this year!
I have yet to replace my dark denim shirt from last year. The A.P.C. dark denim shirt pictured above is the ideal wash.
The fringe handbags pictured above are absolutely gorgeous. I must admit, I was a bit annoyed when creating the board. Why? Well, one thing about me that a great deal of people don’t know, is that I’ll wear something once and discard of it.
Wait….Allow me to clarify that, because I know some of you will probably read that with eyes wide open. (Lol) I have the tendency to get over clothing, shoes, and the like, before they’re considered dated. I’ll randomly wake up and say, “This must go.” Something like a liquidation sale, except I’m not selling anything!
Furthermore, I purchased a turquoise shoulder bag from Target last year that I was really excited about. I carried it a few times and ended up getting rid of it, along with some other items. I thought, “There’s no way fringe bags will make a comeback.” WRONG! The other day, I was thumbing through one of my favorite fashion publications and noticed an entire article on fringe handbags. I was sick, livid, all the above! This is clearly a lesson to me: Hold on a little longer! Also, festival season is upon us and what better way to house all of your essentials?!
P.S. I’ve provided a few photos for your viewing pleasure. By then, you’ll know why I made such a fuss!
