Weekday Recap featuring Pomp Society!

Happy Sunday!

For those of you who follow the blog regularly, know that I’m obsessed with jumpers. A few weeks ago, I shot with Pomp Society for their one year anniversary sale, and one of the vintage items I modeled was a Mizz Lizz plaid, pastel-colored jumper. Of course, after being photographed in the piece, I ended up making the purchase!

I love how the jumper is a size 11/12, but fits perfectly. However, the leg region is a bit baggy, but still flattering. I received so many compliments on Thursday regarding my entire ensemble. I’m so relieved that I decided to hold on to my periwinkle bucket bag, as it paired well with the colors in the jumper. Honestly, I’ll probably never rid myself of this piece!

Weekday Recap featuring Orchids & Spice!

Happy Saturday!

There’s something about a matching printed set, specifically with a floral pattern. I fell head over heels when I first laid eyes on the Flower Garden Crop duo from Orchids & Spice. The print is fun, and the lightweight polyester material is comfortable for the high temperatures we’ve endured for the last couple of weeks. I love the long, wide leg pants that no doubt have to be worn with heels high enough to avoid falling or tripping!

Blownaway’s very own, Danita Jarrell styled the cutest halo braid for me; I was so pleased with the end result. I received so many compliments on the neatness, and overall design. I’ll definitely wear my hair like this during the coming season!

Recap: Tootsies Dallas Top Blogger 2014

Happy Thursday!

For those of you who have been living under a rock, yours truly, as well as seven other bloggers were the finalist for Tootsies Dallas Top Blogger 2014 Competition. The festivities took place last Thursday via the Dallas location and as always, they pulled out all the stops.

From the stylish attendees to the delectable cupcakes from Sprinkles, this was a night to remember. The most exciting part of the evening were the fashion presentations that all finalists presented to the audience. I knew for a fact that I wasn’t the only one who was a bit anxious, but Courtney Kerr’s bubbly personality helped eradicate any nervous energy. The audience received an extra treat with the Elizabeth and James Fall Preview to introduce the season’s hottest trends.

Dallas Tidbit’s very own, Kendall Clay was crowned this year’s Top Blogger! I couldn’t think of anyone who deserved it more. It was a great pleasure becoming acquainted with the ladies, and a special thanks to the Tootsies staff for everything!photo

Weekend Recap featuring Katydid Collection!

Happy Tuesday!

You can never go wrong with a pair of shorts. I probably own a million pair; if they’re cute, they’re fair game. My newest addition, the Moroccan-Printed Shorts shown below are the definition of cute and flirty. The polyester material is über comfortable and contains pockets! (And you know how I feel about pockets). I chose to wear my Jacquard Denim Shirt to highlight all the colors instead of focusing  on just one. I included the Bowler Derby Hat as a main accessory to give it a bit of an edge. Nonetheless, the ensemble turned out exactly how I envisioned. 😉

Weekend Recap featuring Katydid Collection!

Happy Monday!

Dresses are one of my go-to pieces for summer. They’re fun and much effort isn’t required to create the desired look. The Katydid Fashion Women’s Maxi Dress fits my petite frame perfectly. Not to mention, the print is an eye-catcher with summer-friendly hues. I completed the look with Gold Taj Majal earrings, Dita sunnies, and Zara sandals-a perfect match!

Flower Power featuring Forever 21!

Happy Tuesday!

I spent majority of my Sunday afternoon via The Plaza at Preston Center not only for a special gathering, but to enjoy the beautiful weather and indulge in a cupcake from Sprinkles.

I wore a Dainty Floral Jumpsuit that provided me with the perfect mix of comfortability and style. I love how long and wide the legs are, in which I contemplated on getting altered, but glad I chose to do otherwise. My caramel-colored ankle strapped sandals enabled me to prance around freely, without tripping over the bottom. Lastly, my vintage navy envelope clutch and gold filigree sunnies paired well to complete my ensemble.

Weekend Style Recap featuring Nasty Gal x Shakuhachi

Happy Tuesday!

Klyde Warren Park is truly a Dallas gem. There’s so much to do and one couldn’t possibly explore everything it has to offer in one visit. I’ve visited the 5.2-acre park more than a few times and still have much to discover. Klyde Warren Park is the perfect mix of family, friends, food, and fun. What better way to enjoy a beautiful Sunday evening, than to entertain the hours of perfect strangers and beautiful weather!

The temperature read 85 degrees, but it felt more like 98. Needless to say, I was dressed comfortably in a medium blue skater skirt, graphic crop top, and floral-printed slip on sandals. Ironically, I remember purchasing the crop tee and skater skirt, and had no idea as to what kind of shoes I wanted to wear. Fortunately, one day while browsing Nasty Gal’s new arrivals, I stumbled across the printed slip on sandals. By the way, slip on sandals have made a surprising comeback from the 90’s. (lol)

Weekend Style Recap featuring Forever 21

Happy Memorial Day!

I’ve been dying to photograph in Deep Ellum for the longest, especially since I recently learned of the “Deep Ellum Texas” sign. There’s so many abandoned buildings and loads of construction taking place, but I find so much beauty in the area.

Weekend Style Recap featuring Nectar Sunglasses

Happy Tuesday!

If you asked me what accessory I couldn’t live without, the answer would be sunglasses. Friends of mine give me a hard time, because I have a Tootsies bag in my backseat filled with over a dozen pair. In there, you’ll find everything from cat-eye sunnies to gold tip, tortoise shell aviators.

I recently added a pair to my plethora of sunnies from Nectar Sunglasses, in one of their popular shades, Amethyst. I wore them for the first time while strolling through the Arts District of Downtown Dallas. The sunnies paired well with my black, colorful clouds tee, distressed boyfriend jeans, and chunky platform sandals. They’re extremely lightweight and with me being an occasional klutz, I don’t have to worry about scratching the lens due to the scratch resistance film. The sunnies are quite the conversation piece with the polycarbonate lenses; which I think are über chic and trendy!
