LBLD (Little Black Lace Dress)

Happy Friday!

I can’t think of anything more amazing than the LBLD. Only the greatest wardrobe stable besides the LBD, the little black lace dress! I’m a huge fan of anything lace; lace makes me feel sexy, feminine and bold. I like pairing lace with leather; I like wearing lace during the day, and love wearing it at night. 😉

Get into this extremely flattering lace number from Beehive. It’s the perfect mix of flirty, sexy, and trendy. The mesh neckline is my absolute favorite feature on the dress. The dress is versatile, and can be taken from day to night!

Additional ways I would’ve styled this dress:

  1. Paired with black blazer
  2. Paired with moto jacket

What are your thoughts? How would you style?

Designer Tuesday: Misile

Happy Tuesday!

I love female designers who incorporate a bit of a menswear touch to their women’s apparel. I can appreciate a masculine plaid in the form of a fitted dress or even a full skirt. My sentiments on this, makes me ponder on Misile.

Misile is an independent label proudly designed in Brooklyn, New York and manufactured in New York City’s garment district. Creative Director, Rhonda Puccini uses her former menswear design experience to create the contrast of soft femininity with a masculine edge, which makes Misile stand out as a true Brooklyn label. Puccini strives to keep manufacturing in the U.S., specifically NYC. “I still personally go into the factories and supply stores myself and it never gets old. At this point it feels like you’re a family member of the district. Economically speaking, I understand why companies manufacture overseas, but I prefer to keep Misile a true NY label.”

As I mentioned earlier, I love a designer that incorporates a bit of masculinity to their women’s apparel to create pieces that are unique and aesthetically appealing. As Puccini states, “I love playing with both feminine and masculine looks, or soft silks with distressed denim accents. Most of my styles transform drastically depending on simple styling, for instance, combat boots vs. heels. The press referred to our A/W 13 collection as ‘Glam Grunge’ which I thought was quite accurate.”

According to Puccini, Misile has also signed on to design a small Holiday capsule collection with Free People. “Free People has been a huge supporter of our brand and are a great company to team up with. Come November, the exclusive ‘Misile for Free People’ styles for Holiday will be available online and in Free People stores across the US.”

Misile has my vote and I’m certain the brand is on its way to becoming a household name!
