We have approximately 11 days until summer ‘17. Are you ready? If so, good! If not, me neither! LMAO
I think I’ve discussed in previous posts that I don’t buy a bunch of threads when a new season is on the horizon. For starters, my disposable income won’t allow it, and that just seems like a daunting task.
Therefore, I purchase pieces at a time — good for both my wallet and sanity. Speaking of which, Beehive Boutique is my favorite! Their website AND stores are oozing with the trendiest pieces. It’s like shopping at a retail oasis, especially their location in Fort Worth!
Keep your eyes peeled for these summer ’17 trends:
Shirting – One of my favorite trends; I don’t see us tiring of it anytime soon.
Gingham – I own a fabulous gingham skirt. I personally approve of gingham on gingham.
Basket Bags – I’m STILL trying to snag Cult Gaia’s Ark bag, it’s seriously a best seller.
Retro Swimsuits – Don’t be afraid to opt for a nostalgic one piece or high waist bikini.
Slides – Another one of my favorite trends; I’ve accumulated quite a few from Zara.
Bold Florals – Start with an easy maxi if you’re reluctant to try this trend.
For those of you who have been living under a rock, yours truly, as well as seven other bloggers were the finalist for Tootsies Dallas Top Blogger 2014 Competition. The festivities took place last Thursday via the Dallas location and as always, they pulled out all the stops.
From the stylish attendees to the delectable cupcakes from Sprinkles, this was a night to remember. The most exciting part of the evening were the fashion presentations that all finalists presented to the audience. I knew for a fact that I wasn’t the only one who was a bit anxious, but Courtney Kerr’s bubbly personality helped eradicate any nervous energy. The audience received an extra treat with the Elizabeth and James Fall Preview to introduce the season’s hottest trends.
Dallas Tidbit’s very own, Kendall Clay was crowned this year’s Top Blogger! I couldn’t think of anyone who deserved it more. It was a great pleasure becoming acquainted with the ladies, and a special thanks to the Tootsies staff for everything!
For those of you who attended the event, tell me about all the fun you had! 😉
I spent majority of my Sunday afternoon via The Plaza at Preston Center not only for a special gathering, but to enjoy the beautiful weather and indulge in a cupcake from Sprinkles.
I wore a Dainty Floral Jumpsuit that provided me with the perfect mix of comfortability and style. I love how long and wide the legs are, in which I contemplated on getting altered, but glad I chose to do otherwise. My caramel-colored ankle strapped sandals enabled me to prance around freely, without tripping over the bottom. Lastly, my vintage navy envelope clutch and gold filigree sunnies paired well to complete my ensemble.
If you asked me what accessory I couldn’t live without, the answer would be sunglasses. Friends of mine give me a hard time, because I have a Tootsies bag in my backseat filled with over a dozen pair. In there, you’ll find everything from cat-eye sunnies to gold tip, tortoise shell aviators.
I recently added a pair to my plethora of sunnies from Nectar Sunglasses, in one of their popular shades, Amethyst. I wore them for the first time while strolling through the Arts District of Downtown Dallas. The sunnies paired well with my black, colorful clouds tee, distressed boyfriend jeans, and chunky platform sandals. They’re extremely lightweight and with me being an occasional klutz, I don’t have to worry about scratching the lens due to the scratch resistance film. The sunnies are quite the conversation piece with the polycarbonate lenses; which I think are über chic and trendy!
