Gettin’ Sporty With It Featuring SIX:02 + Adidas

Happy Tuesday!

This June, I’ve partnered with SIX:02 to bring you athletic chic-inspired looks. Speaking of athletic chic, ever since I spotted Rihanna wearing the Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals Dress w/ split, I had to have it for myself. Okay, maybe not the exact dress, but something remotely close. The one I’m wearing below is similar to the aforementioned number with the exception of the neckline. As you can see, mine has a scoop neck and Rihanna’s dress has a v-neck. When I walked into SIX:02, there I spotted the Adidas Originals 3-Stripes Dress. I immediately tried it on with a cool pair of all-white Adidas Originals Superstars. I couldn’t wait to share this look with you all. Who knew a glove-fitting dress could be deemed both athletic and sexy? LOL

Runnin’ with SIX:02 x Adidas/Pharrell Williams

Happy Monday!

I’ll admit it: I’ve jumped on the sporty chic bandwagon by partnering with SIX:02! If you haven’t heard, Adidas Original Pharrell’s Pink Beach SS16 Collection has landed both online and in stores. Adidas has definitely raised the bar by offering super cute athletic wear that can be worn just about anywhere.

The collaboration dropped early May, and includes a range of bold summer goodness in the form of printed tees, jackets, and more. I got my hands on the sassy, Daisies Leggings that can be worn to your evening workout sesh or paired with a crop for a relaxed, yet stylish look.

I <3 The 70's Pt. 2

Happy Monday!

We had a cold front usher it’s way through the DFW area. The good news is that it presented the opportunity for me to wear my fringe jacket. I snagged this baby in the summer and I’ve waited patiently to wear it at the right time. It’s a 100% suede with a nice fringe detail on both sides. Actually, everything I’m wearing below happens to be some of my favorite fall pieces. After a month-long hunt, I found a reasonably priced Lace Up Front Bodysuit – score! I was coveting one from a known clothier, but couldn’t bring myself to pay almost $100. I found an inexpensive version via MissGuided for $37.

The denim flares I’m wearing are every bit of amazing. I ordered them on a whim and didn’t regret paying over $100. Like my other pair of denim flares these too, had to be altered. They were just too long. Now, they’re a perfect fit. The bell at the bottom might be extreme for some, but I love it. I’ll definitely get plenty of wears out of these jeans!

I <3 The 70's

Happy Friday!

I’ve recently adopted an abnormal interest for the 70’s. Don’t ask me why or how – it’s an obsession that happened overnight. I find myself watching vintage episodes of Soul Train, JUST to see what everyone was wearing, their demeanor, etc. It doesn’t surprise me that you can now revamp your entire wardrobe with everything from a dashiki to a soulful pair of flare plants. Speaking of flare pants, the pair I wore on Sunday are interesting not to say the least. It was an impulse buy, characterized by an excuse to beat the price of the same exact pair I spotted at a boutique in Vegas. They’re no longer available but with the revival of the 70’s, you’ll be able to find an identical pair. I like the fit and how they accentuate my petite frame. They look good with platforms. Hence, the pair you can barely see in the photos below.

Get a load of the Castin Bells Crop which was another impulse buy. Initially, I ordered a small but it was loose-fitting, which isn’t good for a plunging neckline. I paid a visit to the seamstress so the perfect fit could be achieved. My photographer fell in love with the sleeves so much, that she captured a one-second Boomerang for me to share as a sneak peak of today’s post!

Summer in Tie-Dye

Happy Wednesday!

Summer is moving right along and I find myself trying to hold onto every moment. Hanging out over in Trinity Groves this past weekend was fitting. Here goes my shameless plug: If you haven’t taken the chance to explore Trinity Groves then I suggest you add that to your list. Esther and I had a blast over by Four Corners Brewing Company.

My Silky Tie Dye Jumper was perfect for me to wear on the 100 degree day. It felt more like 106, but you get my drift. Initially, wearing a jumpsuit seems like a bad idea when you think about it, but the material is extremely lightweight and I didn’t feel “hot” at all. I really like the length of the pants and how it gives off a 70’s vibe. The back is flirty and I couldn’t have picked a better hairstyle. The tie-dye print is definitely an eye-catcher and it’s easy. Jumpers require minimal to no effort; I embrace that during the warmer months. Grab a pair of cute shoes and sunnies and you’re on!

Do you see these Shoes?!

Happy Thursday!

“Do you see these shoes?!”

I’m sure you’ve uttered those words when you were wearing a pair of shoes that only the shoe gods could create.

Well, those are my exact sentiments regarding my new babies, the Raven. They’re quite the conversation piece. The first time I wore them, I was like, “Do you see these shoes?” “Get a load of the fringe, the fringe, THE FRINGE!” Obviously, that’s my most favorable part of the shoe. The color is fitting for a majority of the pieces in my closet, and I can transition them from day to night. Unless you were born in heels, I wouldn’t recommend wearing these for more than an hour. The Raven isn’t as high as some of my other heels, but they are definitely not for the faint at heart.

I had the hardest time trying to figure out what I would pair with the Raven; I even made an attempt to go purchase something. Fortunately, I managed to conjure up a pretty awesome ensemble with pieces I already owned. Don’t you just love an all black ensemble with a pair of killer tan/camel heels?! *Wink*
